Current project is to put an S-10 chassis under Daryl's 52 Chevy pickup.
Here's where we started...an
extra rusty '91 S-10.
...with a 4 banger.
Stauffer can't wait...he's ready
to cruise.

Not much left...
Removing the drive train. The
T-5 is going in my Dodge.
6 hours later, we had what we
were after.
It needs stretched 7".
Hoff's Machine made
some frame stretch material.
The frame is cut
New rails welded in. I don't
have the inner stiffener installed in this picture.
I extended the fuel lines at the stretch, and
made all new brake lines due to rust.
Engine and trans ready to go in. Valves set,
engine is pre-lubed and set at firing position of #1.
Here's the engine in the frame rails. I have to
modify the engine mounts and make a trans mount.
Here's a shot of some of the brake lines...I
forgot to snap one before the engine was in. Click for larger view.
Here is the 52 as I drove it in...
A
short time later.
Cab on the S-10 frame
This rectangular tube will be cut on the line to
make the two front cab mounts.
This is the rear cab mount.
Left engine mount. I'm using the engine mounts
from a '63 Impala SS
The S-10 master cylinder installed.
A tilt column out of a mid-80's Chevy pickup.
We'll use the blinker and ignition switch from this column.
Frame rails bobbed, plated, and a cross member
to mount the front end on.
Firewall in primer...
...and paint. Click on pictuer for a larger
view. (that's the wiring harness in the bag.)
Engine and master cylinder installed.
Modified radiator support. Original radiator and
modified original support. Radiator support will be in original location,
and rad can still be removed without taking anything else apart.
Interior showing '80's Chevy pickup steering
column and framework for new doghouse, complete with a Ford Ranger shifter.
Underside view of column, showing brake pedal.
This is the original S-10 pedal. Wiring is still in progress.
Doghouse is wrapped with steel.
Ed has started filling the fuel filler hole.
Inner fender panels going on.
A view of the trans cooler
Daryl bolting fenders on.
Entire front cllip on.
Bypass style fuel regulator. We are using the
original in tank fuel pump.
Running boards installed.
A shot of one of the running board brackets.
Bed installed with new frame. The floor is about
1 1/2" higher than original.
The original S-10 fuel filler was modified and
stuck through the wall.
Daryl brought a surprise for me...my logo laser
cut into some sheet metal. Way cool. I'll paint it up and hang it somewhere.
Thanks to Mike Wilson for the laser work.

The battery is tucked under the bed floor.
Here's the finished product. Still some work to
do, but it is back home for now.
