Current project is a '63-ish Dodge pickup. It had sat in a field in western Kansas for 10 years or so...

How it was found...1/2 ton pickup with 3/4 ton cab. Some good headers in the cab...the cab that wasn't bolted down. I took a 383 / 727 out. 10 years of sitting without manifolds or air cleaner, sucking in western Kansas dust.

The engine compartment...the crossmember has to come out. This crossmember was under the original manual bellhousing. My new plasma...perfect tool for crossmember removal. It's gone!

Close up of where the crossmember was   Blurry picture of the plate installed where the crossmember came out   The left front cab mount was all rusted out.

I was only four bolts from removing the grille. This will make installing the engine much easier.   Close up of some of the cab rust. The cab mount was shot, and the front of the cab was down 2" lower than it should have been.   The repair job

View from inside The new floor...it's double thick here, the cab mount bolt head is below floor level. Drilling the hole for mounting bolt access.

Brakes were, of course, shot. We foiund out the chassis was at least a '65.   New brakes.   The frame had been painted orange at some point.

Steering column back in, with new rag joint.   I told Steve that it was getting cleaned up under the hood. Here, it's in primer.   Inner fender panels were sandblasted.

It's white!   Chassis black on the frame and inner fender panels. You can also see the new dual cylinder master cylinder and custom bent lines.   Here's the engine...a 383 from a circle track car.

Chuck rebuilt the 727   The engine in the truck.   Josh pretending it's Christmas.

Here's the trans crossmember I made.   Radiator suppport shot with chassis black.   Engine further together, along with the radiator support.

Lokar shifter going in...   We had Bob's Radiator clean out the tank.   It's back in.

It's hard to see, but I had to modify the brackets that hold the radiator...I gave it about 4 1/2" more clearance. Click on picture for larger view.
