Jim's Fairlane is back, for mini-tub, ladder bars, subframe connectors, and install a 302, 5 speed, and a reworked 8.8.
Jim Lauer's Fairlane 500. It received an all new wiring harness and custom instrument panel Jim at work.

Dash wiring New, custom built gauge cluster Jim at work on the Mustang II front end...

Not a good pic...you can see how far the fender well has been moved in by the hinge location   Inside view of mini-tub. Jim got an extra 1 1/2" or a little more, can get a 12" wide tire in. The other side cut out.
Custom made subframe connectors going in. The tubes are cut, and tig welded to the housing Brackets tacked to tubes, ready to go get tig-ed. We will use a panhard bar.
Looking in the trunk. Floor cut for shock crossmember install. Spare tire carrier was here, Amp will go here. Inside view of floor removal for installation of front ladder bar crossmember. Floor should look pretty stock when finished. The floor drop moved about 1 1/4" forward.
Trunk with sheetmetal welded in. Jim will install his stereo electronics here. Detail view of interior floor mods. Backseat is back in. You can see part of the ladder bar crossmember at the driveshaft tunnel.
Rear end assembled and ready to go in It's in...roughly the ride height it will have Detail of installed suspension
It''s on the ground! You can see it all from here... Panels replaced shock towers
Jim installing lifters and rocker arms Me at the bench. We had to disassemble all the lifters, as they were gummed up. I built a little jig to hold the lifter, and this made the job pretty easy. Close up of my simple jig. A couple 2x4's with a 7/8" hole to hold the lifter for disassembly.
All the internal lifter parts. The engine on the stand. We found that when changing water pump from reverse to forward rotation, you must change the timing cover also. Forward rotation pump has different pulley bolt pattern and pump height from reverse...we were using the reverse rotation serpentine pulley, and had to drill the pulley and make a 1/8" spacer. Our friend Dustin cut this aluminum spacer with a laser shape cutter.
Here is where the battery will reside. I made a cutout in the inner fender well to recess the battery for turbo clearance. It's in...the 650 Holley is just sitting there for the picture. Well, Darren, what do you think about Jim's new shifter handle???
Here's the new transmission crossmember. It would be in, but I ran out of wire for the mig. Radiator is in... Fuel system is coming along.
Jim's car has gone home.
Throttle linkage in and adjusted.

Here is what the car looks like on the ground.
